The Oncoplastic Academy’s inaugural Breast Oncoplasty and Reconstruction Course took place on November 3rd and 4th at the Nicholson Center in Orlando. In an innovative training and learning model, these days were filled with lectures and cadaver labs, where breast surgeons had hands-on practice with the latest techniques in reconstructive breast surgery, featuring theoretical sessions, surgical videos, and hands-on training with torso models. Professors Régis Paulinelli, Cícero Urban, and Maurício Resende demonstrated advanced refinement techniques, such as lipo-filling and nipple-areola reconstruction. Attendees came from the United States, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Ecuador. The event also included two wine-paired dinners, fostering rich social interactions among instructors, students, and their families.
